David Martin O'Connor, 68, of Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020 in The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Susan L. (Pickering) O'Connor, whom he married on February 17, 2012, and with whom he shared his life and his love for many years before then.
Born on February 18, 1952 in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Charles J. O'Connor and the late Mary M. (Fitzpatrick) O'Connor.
A graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1971, he worked for many years as a Truck Driver for a number of businesses in the area, as well as having worked for four years as an Associate at The Home Depot in South Attleboro. A resident of Pawtucket for more than twenty years, David previously lived in South Attleboro, where he attended St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish.
A passionate musician, he played bass for many years with "The Mark Ray Band" and was deeply committed to organizing areas musicians to play at "The News Café" in Pawtucket as part of the annual "Pawstock" concert. David held a special place in his heart for his beloved companion, his dog, Vincent Van Dog, a/k/a/ "Vinny". He will forever be remembered for his quick wit, his terrific sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to create puns.
In addition to his cherished wife, Susan, he leaves his mother-in-law, Caroline Pickering of Attleboro; MA; his brothers-in-law, David Pickering of East Falmouth, MA, Robert Pickering of Vero Beach, FL, and Paul Pickering of Attleboro; and his sister-in-law, Claudia Rose of Southport, NC. He leaves two generations of nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends. David was the brother of the late Dennis Andrew O'Connor who passed away on February 19, 2017.
