David A. MacDonald, 78, of Milford, MA, formerly a lifelong resident of the Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, passed away unexpectedly at the Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, MA on July 1, 2021.
Born in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Edmund R. MacDonald and the late Eleanor (Schaberle) MacDonald.
David was raised and educated in North Attleboro, where he resided until moving to Milford, MA seven years ago.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from his enlistment on May 10, 1960 until his Honorable Discharge on December 14, 1962. As a disabled Veteran, he remained proud of his country and the service he provided.
Many years ago, he was employed by the family business, REMCO Oil Company. In his youth, he and his family were communicants of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark in the Village of Attleboro Falls. Incredibly musically inclined, he enjoyed entertaining family and friends as he played the piano and harmonica.
He leaves three children: Robin R. Antonik of Attleboro, MA; Barbara MacDonald of West Warwick, RI; and Cathie Shivers of Pawtucket, RI; eight grandchildren; his brother, Richard E. MacDonald of Norton, MA; his former wife, Donna Marie (LaRocque) MacDonald of Attleboro, MA; and several extended family members.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Gathering and Visitation with Veteran's Honors in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. followed by committal prayers and inurnment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 12:30 p.m.
