David A. Dumont, 58, of Plainville, MA, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 4, 1964, he was a devoted son of the late Albert Homer Dumont and the late Rita Marie (Bourgeois) Dumont. He resided in North Attleboro until moving to Plainville in 1980. He was a 1983 graduate of King Philip Regional High School and studied culinary at Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island.
An accomplished chef, he worked for several restaurants and facilities including Luciano's Restaurant in Wrentham, MA; was director of food service for Boston Children's Hospital and worked for many years at Funway Café in Foxboro, MA.
He worshipped regularly at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, MA and at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mary where, in 2017, he participated in the R.I.C.A. Program - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.
David enjoyed listening to music and going to live concerts at Bally's Twin River Lincoln and Plainridge Park Casino.
He leaves his sister: Donna R. Crawford and her husband, Dennis R. Crawford, of South Attleboro, MA; his sister-in-law: Patricia A. (Miller) Dumont, wife of his late brother, Russell A. Dumont, who died on March 9, 2016, of Telford, Tennessee; his nephews: Scott M. Dumont, Ryan J. Dumont, Christopher R. Dumont, Dennis M. Crawford, and Keith D. Crawford and several great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel".
Private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.
