David Francis Desroches

David Francis DesRoches, 70 David Francis DesRoches, 70, of South Attleboro; formerly of Revere; died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Epoch Senior Health Care of Norton.  He was the husband of Joan (Love) DesRoches to whom he was married on April 20, 1963. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts on September 19, 1940, he was a son of the late Theodore J. DesRoches, Sr. and Helen (Lane) DesRoches.  He was raised in Somerville and was a 1958 graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and earned his Bachelors degree in business administration from Northeastern University in 1985. Mr. DesRoches was a former member of the United States Army Reserves. He was employed as a district manager for the customer service department of the former Cambridge Electric Light Company for many years prior to his retirement. Mr. DesRoches resided in South Attleboro for the past 12 years having moved to the community from Revere where he had resided from 1968 1998. He was a communicant of Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Pastoral Council. Mr. DesRoches was a member of the Cambridge Rotary Club and volunteered with the Big Brothers in Attleboro.  He will be remembered as a charitable man. In addition to his wife of 47 years, he leaves his loving children: David J. DesRoches and his wife, Sheryl Melanson, of Duxbury and John M. DesRoches of Mendon; his cherished grandchildren: Isabel Love DesRoches, Amanda Love DesRoches, Jackson Tobin DesRoches, Makai Adam McClintock, Kaeden Luc McClintock, Daena Cole McClintock and Aren Jesse McClintock; a sister: Mabel Kelleher and her husband, Paul Kelleher, of Pawtucket, RI; a brother: William DesRoches and his wife, Toni (DiMaggio) DesRoches, of Melrose; a sister-in-law: Patricia DesRoches of Cambridge and many devoted nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Theodore J. DesRoches, Jr., Marie Authement, Jeanne Fitzgerald and Elaine Laffin.  The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the oncology nurses at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and Epoch Senior Care staff and other loving caregivers.  Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 8:45 AM from Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Ghost Church, Linden Street, Attleboro.  Due to weather conditions, burial will be conducted privately at a later date.  Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral procession is being organized prior to the Funeral Mass.
