David
Cleggett
Jun 21, 1965 — Oct 19, 2026
David Cleggett, 61, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. One of eight children, David, grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts, where he forged lasting memories and relationships. He was the son of Thomas Cleggett and Eileen (Kelly) Maraget.
A proud member of the class of 1983, David dedicated his life to the craft of welding and fabrication, beginning his career at the shipyard in Quincy, MA. His professional journey led him to work for Sousa and DeMayo for 12 fulfilling years, where he honed his skills and built a reputation as a hardworking and dedicated tradesman.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, David was passionate about life's simple pleasures. He had an enduring love for riding his motorcycle, feeling the wind on his face as he explored the open roads. Fishing provided him with a serene escape, time to reflect, and an opportunity to bond with family and friends.
One of David's greatest achievements was his commitment to sobriety for the past 14 years, a personal victory that he embraced with strength and resilience. He inspired those around him with his determination to lead a healthier, more fulfilling life.
David is survived by his three children, Erica Walton, Michael Cleggett, and Emily. He is also survived by his siblings, Kent Lorentzen, Daniel Cleggett, Valerie Cleggett, Dorothy Johnson Brenda Jaques and her husband, James, Robert Maraget, and stepsister, Michelle Maraget. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, as well as great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Cleggett.
His family will hold his memory close, remembering the laughter, wisdom, and strength he shared.
