David Ronald Beland, 67, an angel among us, of Attleboro, MA, passed away surrounded by the comfort of his loving family on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was the devoted and dedicated husband of Cindy A. (Joubert) Beland, whom he married on October 8, 1981.
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on December 27, 1954, he was a son of the late Edmund L. Beland, Sr. and the late Irene G. (LeBeau) Beland. He was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where he remained a lifelong resident. He later attended the Jewelry Institute for two years.
As a machinist, he was employed by Checon and Whiting and Davis for many years and will be remembered for his strong work ethic.
He will be remembered for being a "simple man" who was humble and would do anything to help family, friends, neighbors or the less fortunate and was always giving to others.
A man of strong religious convictions, he was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Roman Catholic Church in South Attleboro, MA, and frequently attended Mass at LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro, MA.
The Beland family, under David's direction, sponsored an annual Easter Dinner for the homeless at Centenary United Methodist Church in Attleboro, MA, and which fed hundreds of people every year for 25 years.
For many years, David enjoyed "flipping" properties. His favorite pastimes included listening to blues music and teaching his grandson to play the guitar, times spent creating memories at the family Cape Cod home in Sandwich, MA, gardening and playing golf, fishing at the Cape Cod canal, anything with his adored grandchildren and hosting countless cookouts and good times even last July 4th when the family was able to gather at his request and wish.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, he leaves two children: Jennifer Gordon of Cumberland, RI, and Jeffrey T. Beland and his wife, Michelle (Goddard) Beland, of Seekonk, MA; five grandchildren: Keith Beland, Taylor Beland, Bayleigh Gordon, Lylah Gordon, and Brady Beland; a great grandson: Kaiden Beland; a brother: Mark J. Beland, Esquire of Attleboro, MA; a sister: Deborah A. Ryan and her husband, James Ryan, of Narragansett, RI; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was the father of the late Joy Beland who died on April 21, 2013, and the brother of the late Edmund L. Beland Jr. and the late Timothy L. Beland.
