Darlene Patricia (Gariepy) Nary, 74, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the wife of the late John Stephen Nary, Sr.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 16, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Joseph Gariepy and the late Doris Louise (Landry) Gariepy. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro, MA. She resided in the City of Attleboro for the past ten years.
Mrs. Nary was employed in retail department stores and had been a telephone operator for A-1 Services, a telephone answering service for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro, MA.
Darlene was the "world's greatest" Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and playing cards, particularly cribbage and solitaire. She was a great teacher of the card game, "Crazy Eights".
She was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children: John Nary, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of North Providence, RI; Jason Nary and his fiancé, Nora, of Stonington, CT; Tammy Nary of Pawtucket, RI; Priscilla Crugnale and her fiancé, Juan Torres, of Newport, RI; Donna Baer and her husband, Henry, of West Bridgewater, MA and Julie Nary and her fiancé, Craig Sampson, of Newport, RI; and a daughter-in-law: Kathleen Nary of Penacook, NH, wife of her late son, Joseph M. Nary who died in 2004. She was the mother of the late James Nary who died in 1973.
She also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darlene was the sister of Jeanie Holt of Attleboro, MA; June Smith of Attleboro, MA; Ronald Gariepy of North Attleboro, MA; Alfred Gariepy of Norton, MA and Robert Gariepy of Buzzards Bay, MA. She was the sister of the late Shirley Joubert.
She also leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to honor Mrs. Nary by attending Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
A private funeral service will follow visitation for the immediate family.
Burial will be private.
