Darlene T. (Nye) Arno, 52, of Thacher Street, Attleboro, died on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the longtime companion of Stephen D. Paul with whom she made her home. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on May 3, 1959, she was a daughter of Lewis E. and Theresa (Lapointe) Nye of Attleboro. She resided in Attleboro for most of her life and was educated at St. Josephs School and Attleboro public schools. She was employed as the Director of Operations for Possible Dream Ltd. in Foxboro from 1990 until 2004 when she went to work in the Collections Department at Cathedral Arts in Providence, Rhode Island until May of this year. Ms. Arno was affiliated with the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. She will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family and for being the neighborhood Mom. Her favorite pastimes included cooking for family and friends, spending time in her garden with her flowers and creating lifelong memories to be forever cherished. Time around the pool at her home created a loving and fun environment for all to enjoy. In addition to her companion of more than 21 years and her parents, she leaves three children: Joshua D. Arno of Attleboro; Brittney M. Perry of Rehoboth and Jeremy J. Arno of Attleboro; three stepchildren: Christine M. Appleton of North Attleboro; Jonathan R. Paul of Attleboro and Desire R. Paul in Tennessee; four, soon to be five, grandchildren; a sister: Cheryl F. Chappell of Taunton; a brother: Daniel L. Nye of Attleboro; her companions parents: Lawrence Paul in Florida and Janice (Bears) Paul of Plainville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 5:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a prayer service and time of reflection following visitation on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. F. Vernon Wright, Pastor of the Second Congregational Church, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Childrens room available during visitation and service. Following services an invitiation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and remembrance at a location to be announced.
