Daniel Eugene Finn, 68, of North Attleboro, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 12, 2016. Born on August 18, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Virene (Delage) Finn Gallo of North Dakota, and the late John Finn.Daniel was a graduate of Bushwick High School in Brooklyn, NY, and received his Associates Degree from Johnson & Wales University. He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army. He was employed for many years as a Computer Operator at Augat Inc. in Attleboro, and then at the Sprague Company in Tewksbury, MA before retiring. A resident of North Attleboro for the past two years, he previously lived in Attleboro, MA. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. Daniel loved music; enjoyed listening to the Beach Boys; and playing the guitar. At one time he played in a band. He was an ardent fan of Star Trek. In his younger years, he volunteered his efforts for Habitat for Humanity and as a member of the Jaycees. Daniel truly loved time spent with his beloved family, especially his cherished grandchildren. He had a special place in his heart for "Timmy", his cat.In addition to his mother, Daniel is survived by his dear children: Wendy I. (Finn) Liston and her husband, Rick W. Liston, of North Attleboro, MA; Daniel J. Finn and his wife, Lourdes Finn, of Pawtucket, RI; and Heidi M. (Finn) Ouellette and her husband, Ryan A. Ouellette, of Sharon, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Zachary D. Liston, Joshua C. Liston, Ashley I. Liston, Kaila E. Liston, Emmet H. Ouellette, and Sagan A. Ouellette. He was the brother of John Finn and Steven Gallo, both of North Dakota, Eileen Yannucci of Medway, MA, and the late Christopher Gallo.Daniel was the former husband and lifetime friend of Linda C. (Hess) Finn, to whom he was married for thirty-six years and whom he first met at age six.Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation with full Military Honors on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Children's room is available during visitation.Those in need of a local ride to the visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.
