Dan Wayne Rose, 67, of Lakeshore Drive, North Attleboro, passed away at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. He was the loving and beloved husband of Patricia A. (Vincent) Rose. Born in Eldora, Iowa on October 17, 1947, he was a son of the late John Francis Rose and Elizabeth L. (Pfanstiehl) Rose. He was employed for many years as a Construction Inspector for the State of Rhode Island Department of Public Transportation. He earned an Associates Degree in Engineering from Roger Williams University, and proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1966 until his Honorable Discharge in 1972, having earned the National Defense Service Medal. He loved motorcycle riding with his wife, as well as all things motorcycle, and enjoyed golf, playing pool, bowling, and the simple pleasures of people watching. Most of all, Dan loved his family, and had a special place in his heart for his cherished grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his treasured children: Douglas Johnathon Rose of Lakeville, MA, Peter J. Rose of Littleton, MA, Stephen J. Rose of Pawtucket, RI, and Michelle R. Whipple of Attleboro; six grandchildren: Benjamin, Charlotte, Zachary, Mason, Ella, and Colin, and looked forward with delight to the upcoming birth of another granddaughter; a beloved sister, Donna Jean Rose; his extended family, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 9:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Harris of Westerly, Rhode Island, officiating.
