Dale O’Neill, age 72, of Attleboro, passed away unexpectedly on March 17th, 2025, at the Boston Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Dorchester on September 5th, 1952, Dale grew up and was schooled in Milton, MA. Graduating from Milton High School in 1970, later earning her associate’s degree from Manchester Community-Technical College in Manchester, CT.
As a proud and lifelong resident of Massachusetts, Dale loved her time spent in Milton, Chelsea, Norton, the Cape and Attleboro.
For many years, Dale worked passionately as a property manager, overseeing residential housing within North and South Shores. With her work ethic and selfless approach, Dale took tremendous pride in assisting and caring for her elderly and less fortunate residents, ensuring their needs were met with care, attention and of course the appropriate housing accommodations. One of Dale’s biggest gifts and strengths has always been her ability to communicate and work with others not only in the workplace, but at home. Always trying to abide by the golden rule, treating others as you would like to be treated.
In her spare time, Dale was active and loved just spending moments with friends and above all, her family. She was always engaged in a variety of hobbies and interests, and quite modest about many of her own incredible talents. Among them was a creative side that shined with drawings and writing of poetry. Dale was also quite the competitor and athlete, enjoying her time with several different sports, including softball in the Norton Softball League with Team Purple (You know who you are), and Pickleball (“Before it was popular!”), with her pickleball family, and playing wiffle ball with her Livestrong family, (hitting grand slams!) She cherished her time with her friends.
Known as “Dale O” to those closest to her, her passion for life was motivated by many wonderful people and experiences over the years, watching and supporting her nieces and nephews and their families grow and blossom. But her pride and joy was always her brilliant and loving daughter, Kelly. Whether it was watching and coaching her in youth sports, sharing a challenging puzzle together, walking the Cape Cod canal, trekking to New Hampshire to see friends, and Vermont to see family, loudly cheering on the UConn women’s basketball team (there is no bigger fan!), or just spending some couch time with their cats, Dale’s happy place was being by her daughter’s side.
Dale is survived by her cherished and loving daughter, Kelly O’Neill of Attleboro; Sister Cheryl Holland and her husband Bob of Norton; Aunt Dr. Carolyn Hall of Fall River; her dear friend Barbara Blakeney of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews: Rob, Marybeth and her husband Andrew, Adam, Sarah, Laura, Nick, Christopher and Megan as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Dale’s family would like to give special thanks to David Jackman M.D. and his amazing staff at the Dana Farber Medical Center, for the many years of excellent and compassionate care and support.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity in Dale’s name.
