Cynthia T. Wheaton

Cynthia T. (Ferreira) Wheaton, 77, of Cohannet Street, Taunton, died on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Edwin Wheaton to whom she was married on January 8, 1955 and who died on March 24, 2005. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on March 6, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Ferreira, Sr. and Anna (Muniz) Ferreira. She resided most of her life in Taunton with the exception of two years she resided in New York. A dedicated and devoted homemaker, Mrs. Wheaton at one time was employed by Robinson Curtain Factory in Taunton and while residing in New York was employed by Birds Eye Frozen Food Company in New York. She treasured times spent on Cape Cod, knitting and adored creating lifelong memories with her cherished grandchildren. Mrs. Wheaton was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Roman Catholic Church in Taunton. She leaves two children: Patricia A. Coccia of Taunton and Robert A. Wheaton of Taunton; a sister: Mary M. Gilbert of Mansfield; two brothers: Herbert Ferreira, Jr. of Taunton and Edward Ferreira of East Taunton; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. She was the mother of the late Gary Joseph Wheaton. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Annunciation of the Lord Roman Catholic Church, 31 First Street, Taunton.
