Cynthia Ann (Patten) Miranda

Cynthia Ann (Patten) Miranda, 53, of Sumner Street, Stoughton, formerly of South Attleboro, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton following a long and courageous health battle. Ms. Miranda was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on February 12, 1958 and was the daughter of the late Herbert H. Patten, Sr. and Rita (Gardner) Patten. She was raised and educated in her native city of Attleboro and resided in South Attleboro before being admitted to Goddard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stoughton where she was a resident for the past six years. In early years, Ms. Miranda was a member of the Attleboro Marching Band. Ms. Miranda was employed as a dispatcher for Houles City Cab, Inc. in Attleboro for 15 years prior to her retirement in 2005 due to health issues. A woman with a creative touch, she enjoyed crafts of all kinds including creating designer t-shirts, hats, jewelry and crosses. Ms. Miranda was an ardent water color painter. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo with family and friends. She leaves a son: Michael P. Goyette and his wife, Meaghan (OMalley) Goyette, of Wrentham; a daughter: Jennifer Miranda and her fianc, Raymond Montoya, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister: Lori J. Ferreira of Providence, Rhode Island; a brother: William H. Patten of Attleboro; six grandchildren: Joshua Peirce of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Jordan Peirce of Wrentham; Tyler Ball of Haverhill; Giovanni Goyette of Wrentham; Mariah Montoya of Las Vegas, Nevada and Gabriel Montoya of Las Vegas, Nevada; her nieces and nephews: Jason Patten and David Smith both of Attleboro; Private Alicia Smith, U.S. Army stationed at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas; Amanda Ferreira, Andrea Ferreira and Matthew Ferreira all of Providence, Rhode Island; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. She was the mother of the late Michelle Lee Miranda who died on February 16, 2005. She was the sister of the late Herbert H. Patten, Jr. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday morning, March 12, 2011 from 9:00 10:45 AM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may simply call (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis local transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday morning, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Kelly Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, Old Post Road, North Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Childrens room available during visitation and the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the American Lung Association.
