Cora "Connie" Gibbons

Cora "Connie" J. (Carr) Gibbons, 95, of Attleboro Falls, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Denzil Marvin Gibbons who passed away on December 13, 1993.Born on December 3, 1922 in Attleboro, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Carr and the late Bertha E. (Norlund) Carr. A lifelong resident of North Attleboro and the Attleboro Falls area, she was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Class of 1941. Connie worked for many years as a Telephone Operator in North Attleboro, and as a Packer in the packing room of VH Blackinton & Company, before retiring.A woman of great faith, she was a longtime member of St. Mark's Parish in Attleboro Falls. She was a member of the Falls Community Association and, having enjoyed camping, was a member of the Jolly Fox Camping Club. Connie was an avid reader; enjoyed audio books; traveling onboard cruise ships; and playing cards, especially with her sisters. She had a love of sweets, and of animals, and had a special place in her heart for her late cat, "Precious". More than anything, Connie loved being with her cherished family.She was the loving mother of Linda M. Gibbons of Attleboro Falls; David T. Gibbons and his wife, Karen A. (Valley) Gibbons, of Attleboro; Thomas M. Gibbons and his wife, Laura L. (Heeks) Gibbons, of North Attleboro; and Douglas E. Gibbons of Attleboro Falls. She was the sister of the late Helen Precourt and the late Virginia Wright, and leaves several nieces and nephews and her extended family. Connie's family would like to express their genuine appreciation for the care and comfort given to her by the many nurses and hospice care providers at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, especially Heather, and to those on the hospital's Balfour Third Floor Unit; to Haley and Leslie; and to Dr. J.
