Consuelo Vargas

Consuelo Vargas, 74, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the home of her son in Attleboro.She was born on February 24, 1944 in Peru, the daughter of the late Modesto Vargas and the late Laura Maizondo.Raised and educated in Peru, she came to the United States forty years ago and resided in Attleboro for the past ten years. Consuelo worked in office cleaning for many years before retiring at the age of sixty-five.A woman of great faith and devotion, she attended St. Vincent de Paul Church in Attleboro. Consuelo was an artistic and creative woman who enjoyed painting, writing and reading. More than anything in her life, she treasured her family and cherished every moment of time with them.Consuelo was the beloved mother of Fabio Chumpitaz and his wife, Maria E. Mazo, of Attleboro; and John Fortin and his wife, Andrea L. Cote, of Waltham, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Juliana Mazo, Jazmin Chumpitaz, and Jessica Chumpitaz. She leaves several cousins and her extended family in Peru.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Consuelo by gathering for a Visitation on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
