Constance Bernadette (Campagna) Valente, 91, of Denise Lane, North Attleboro; formerly of West Newton; went home to be with her late husband, Joseph Peter Valente, on Monday, April 9, 2012 as she was surrounded by her loving family at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on July 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Calvagno) Campagna. She was raised and educated in Charlestown where she was a graduate of Charlestown High School. Her love for fashion led to a career in the retail industry as she worked as a sales associate for more than 35 years prior to her retirement. While residing in Newton, Mrs. Valente was a communicant of Our Lady's Help of Christian where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She resided in West Newton for more than 50 years prior to moving to North Attleboro almost 8 years ago. She leaves two daughters: Deborah Valente-Gildea with whom she lived for almost 8 years in North Attleboro and Diane McCarthy and her husband, Bobby McCarthy, of West Newton; a son: Joseph Valente, husband of the late Mary Valente, who died on April 4, 2012; a granddaughter: Nicole McCarthy; a grandson: Rob McCarthy and his wife, Jill;; two brothers: Louis Campagna of Raynham and Frank Campagna of Ocala, Florida; two sisters: Ann Liberatore of Woburn and Jeannette Cassidy of Charlestown and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Public visitation is respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00AM at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, turn right onto Stanley Street in ½ mile and travel to end of Stanley Street), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor and Rev. David Costa, Pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Church, North Attleboro, co-officiating. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of church services. Private burial will follow St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the lower level of the church.
