Constance "Connie" Ann (Thomashay) Cisternelli, 85, of South Attleboro, MA passed away on March 27, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital with her cherished son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Guido Joseph Cisternelli, to whom she was married on March 13, 1961, and entered into eternal rest on September 24. 2009.
Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on November 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Peter Thomashay, Sr. and the late Anna Thomashay. Raised and educated in her native community of Norwood, she was a 1956 graduate of Norwood High School.
She resided in South Attleboro since 2003 and had previously been a resident of North Attleboro, Plainville and Foxboro.
Mrs. Cisternelli was employed as an administrative assistant for the former Foxboro Company prior to attending Cass School of Floral Design and later managed the floral department at Shaw's Supermarket in Sharon, MA.
A woman of strong religious beliefs, she was a longtime communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, South Attleboro.
Connie enjoyed attending activities at the Attleboro, North Attleboro and Plainville councils on aging.
She enjoyed more than 30 years with her companion, "Spanky", a cockatiel.
Connie will be remembered as a loving, caring and doting wife and mother.
Left to mourn her loss is her son: David J. Cisternelli and his wife, Kerri M. Costa, with whom she resided and several extended family members and dear friends, She was the sister of the late Peter Thomashay, Jr. who died in 2006.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 1:15 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Guido.
