Clara Mary Boehnke

Clara Mary (Caruso) Boehnke, 98, of Madonna Manor, North Washington Street, North Attleboro, formerly of North Avenue, Attleboro, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro where she was admitted on December 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late Harold Inman Boehnke to whom she was married in 1948 and who died on February 20, 1987. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 25, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Orio and Carmella (Biello) Caruso. She resided in Providence until the age of 8 when her family moved to the City of Attleboro and where she remained a resident for almost 90 years until moving to Madonna Manor. Mrs. Boehnke was employed in the packing, shipper and filing departments of the former L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro for many years prior to her retirement at the age of 68. She will be lovingly remembered for her keen sense of style and fashion and for being a gracious lady to all. One of her greatest joys came from cooking and baking for family and friends. She treasured the times spent with family at Mayflower Beach in Dennis on Cape Cod. She was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo and visits to Foxwoods. Mrs. Boehnke leaves a son: Alfred J. Spadoni and his wife, Edna M. (Long) Spadoni, of North Attleboro; a stepson: Richard Boehnke of Burbank, California; three grandchildren: Deborah L. Stewart and her husband, John J. Stewart, of Quincy; Stephen J. Spadoni and his significant other, Sharon H. Feehily, of Plainville and Anna "Lisa" Nolan and her husband, Christopher G. Nolan, of North Attleboro; her great grandchildren: Taylor E. Stewart and Davis J. Stewart both of Quincy; Brittany L. Spadoni and Victoria L. Spadoni both of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Spec. 4th Class Patrick S. Nolan, U.S. Army, currently stationed in Afghanistan; Megan E. Nolan of North Attleboro and Matthew Feehily of Plainville; five nieces and several extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Michael Caruso and Viola Liberty. Private visitation and funeral services will be held for family in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. The Rev. Kelly k. Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church, Old Post Road, North Attleboro, will officiate.
