Claire Jean (Harrison) Roy, 83, of Kendall Street, North Attleboro, died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro following a two month illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Homer J. Roy who died in November 1994. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on June 27, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Edmund C. and Ann (McGovern) Harrison. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where she resided until moving to North Attleboro in 1956. Mrs. Roy was the owner and operator of the former Claires House of Beauty in North Attleboro for many years prior to her retirement in 1996. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in North Attleboro. Mrs. Roy was a member of the P.E.A.L. Club and enjoyed traveling especially taking cruises and visiting the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. She was an ardent sports enthusiast. Mrs. Roy leaves her siblings: Lillian Seguin of Attleboro; Dorothy Monahan of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Edmund Harrison of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Ernest Harrison of Plainville and three generations of nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Therrien, Raymond Harrison, Alice M. Lojeck, Roland Harrison, Kenneth Harrison and Mildred Harrison. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Committal services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 12:45 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.
