Claire Kathleen Riemer

Claire Kathleen (Zurheide) Riemer, 64, of Providence, RI, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, June 6, 2016 at her home.Born on May 10, 1952 in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of Louis Henry Zurheide and the late Claire Anne (McInerny) Zurheide.A resident of Providence since 2004, she previously lived in Brookline, MA and Sharon, MA. Claire, a Licensed Practical Nurse, was a graduate of Yorktown High School in Yorktown Heights, NY, Katherine Gibbs College in Boston, and Waltham Vocational-Technical School for nursing school. She was employed for the past twenty-two years at Medical Information Technology, Inc. (Meditech) as a Senior Supervisor of Patient Care System, Clinical Content and Clinical Support.Claire was truly an engaging woman with many diverse interests and creative talents. She enjoyed International travel and visited 48 of the 50 United States with her work; Caribbean cruises; and visits to Prudence Island; knitting; photography; word puzzles; reading; creating greeting cards. She was a member of several photography groups, the WOW Investment Group, and Sisters of the Traveling Stash. Above all, Claire loved spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandson, Sam, with dear friends, and with her cat, "Nikki", and her grand-dog, "Larry Goggins".She is survived by her beloved children: Thomas E. Riemer of Colorado, and Linda B. (Riemer) Rubin and her companion, James M. Moore, of Holliston, MA; her brother, Louis Zurheide and his wife, Lisa Zurheide, of Brewster, NY; her grandson, Samuel M. Rubin of Sutton, MA, along with Sam's father Adam Rubin; her two nieces: Jessica and Rachel; and many dear friends.Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the historic Colonel Obed Robinson House - 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
