Claire (Mallon) Parent, 94, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed away with dignity and peace on May 19, 2024, at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Parent to whom she was married on August 9, 1947, and entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2016.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John L. Mallon and the late Helen M. (Jordan) Mallon. Raised and educated in the City of Pawtucket, Mrs. Parent remained a lifelong resident.
She loved children and enjoyed caring for them as a private day care provider. She will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated homemaker.
Claire enjoyed times spent with her family and grandchildren creating cherished memories. She loved everything Disney related and enjoyed camping trips in her motorhome. Additionally, she enjoyed trips to Newport, Rhode Island and to Maine to visit her sister where she enjoyed attending the Fryeburg, Maine fair. As a true Rhode Islander, she enjoyed trips to Galilee, Rhode Island to eat doughboys with her husband and loved the Point Judith lighthouse. Claire doted on her late beloved canine companion, "Tiny", an adorable little chihuahua.
She was the beloved mother of Joseph E. Parent and his wife, Priscilla R. (Dohring) Parent, of Attleboro, MA; Kenneth Parent of Norridgewock, Maine and Barbara A. Lynch and her husband, Thomas M. Lynch, of North Attleboro, MA; cherished grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Claire was the mother of the late James Parent who died on September 10, 2010, and was the sister of the late Madeleine Gawlick.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro.
There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass.
Burial will follow in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, MA where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.
