Claire Ann (Murray) Dowdall

Claire Ann (Murray) Dowdall, 95, of East Providence, Rhode Island; a former resident of the City of Attleboro (MA), passed away on February 7, 2024, at the home she shared with her daughter, MaryAnn. She was the wife of the late Edward "Bud" Peter Dowdall to whom she was married on October 29. 1949 and who died on June 30, 2002,
Born in Norton, MA on July 26, 1928, she was a daughter of the late James Murray and the late Catherine (King) Murray. She was raised and educated in Attleboro, MA.
Primarily a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her family, she later worked at L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, MA for ten years prior to retiring at the age of 61.
Over the years, Mrs. Dowdall was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and most recently St. Margaret Parish in the Rumford neighborhood of East Providence, RI.
She was the matriarch of the family and treasured all the times spent in the company of family and friends creating lifelong memories to cherish.
Claire was a proud fan of the Boston Red Sox. Also, an avid cards and bingo player.
She was the beloved mother of Edward F. Dowdall and his wife, Barbara, of Attleboro, MA; Audrey F. Kilcoyne of Centerville, MA; Michael J. Dowdall and his wife, Loretta, of North Attleboro, MA; MaryAnn Ayers with whom she resided in Rumford, RI; Brian J. Dowdall of Attleboro, MA; Bruce A. Dowdall and his wife, Christine, of Attleboro, MA ; andDebbie A. Robinson and her partner, Robert Bouvier, of Woonsocket, RI; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three generations of nieces and nephews andextended family and friends.
Mrs. Dowdall was predeceased by all of her siblings: Katherine DiRenzo, Margaret Perry, Rita Murray, John Murray, Shirley Jarosz.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Parish, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford, RI.
Burial will be private.
