Claire Louise Mattson

Claire L. (Muise) Mattson, 89, of North Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully in the loving comfort of her family on November 29, 2024, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late David A. Mattson to whom she was married for 57 years.

Born in Boston, MA on May 20, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Currie J. Muise and the late Greta H. (Tabor) Muise. She was raised and educated in Dedham, MA where she graduated from Dedham High School. As an employee of Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA, Claire began her career with the company in the employee store and later became a teller at the Texas Instruments Credit Union.

She was a longtime member of the Central Congregational Church in Attleboro Falls, MA where she was a member of the Women’s Christian Fellowship. An avid reader, she was also a member of several book clubs.

Claire cherished sunny days at the beach, spontaneous trips to New Hampshire and Maine, and the joy of gathering with family to celebrate holidays and milestone events. Most of all, she found great happiness exploring the country with her husband David, creating treasured memories together.

She leaves her children: Brenda L. King of Bourne, MA; Nancy J. DeVellis and her husband, David DeVellis, of Duxbury, MA; Beth E. Bolles and her husband, Tyson Bolles, of North Attleboro, MA; and Janice R. McKearney and her husband, Sean J. McKearney, of Attleboro, MA; her grandchildren: Kendra E, Pugh and her husband, Michael P. Pugh, of Millis, MA; Steven Erik King and his wife, Michelle L. King, of Attleboro, MA; Evan A. King of North Attleboro, MA; Lindsay E. DeVellis and her husband, Andrew L. Witkowski, of San Francisco, CA; Krista A. DeVellis and her husband, Dakota J. Grinsell, of Middletown, CT; Bridget E. Bolles and Shayla R. Bolles both of North Attleboro, MA; Nicole C. Cowell and her husband, Michael S. Cowell, of Wrentham, MA; Matthew S. McKearney and his wife, Madeline E. McKearney, of North Franklin, CT and Corey J. McKearney and his wife, Marie U. McKearney, of Attleboro, MA; her great grandchildren: Joseph D. Pugh, William R. Pugh, Winnie L. Cowell and Sadie M. McKearney; her sister Elizabeth A. Creeden of Plymouth, MA, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was the sister of the late John C. Muise and the late Melvin D. Muise.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Friday, December 6. 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro Falls, MA 02763.
