Charles Roland Matson, 69, of Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, died on Monday, January 7, 2013 at his residence surrounded by loving family. He was the husband of Paula J. (Menear) Matson to whom he was married on April 26, 1964. Born in Concord, Massachusetts on August 10, 1943, he was a son of the late Roland V. and Olive B. (Johnson) Matson. He resided in Billerica from 1959 until moving to North Attleboro in 1976. He was a 1962 graduate of Billerica High School and later attended Burdett College. Mr. Matson was employed as a home delivery manager for the Boston Globe for more than 30 years prior to his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed traveling, camping, reading and was a history enthusiast. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Jeffrey C. Matson of Attleboro; James S. Matson of North Attleboro and Amy L. Spencer of New Bern, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister: Caren L. Conway of Lewiston, Maine and extended family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Carl Matson.
