Charles Anthony Entwistle, Sr.

October 22, 1933 — November 2, 2023

Charles Anthony Entwistle, Sr., affectionately known as "Chick", "Charlie" or "Chuck", 90, of North Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by his family on November 2, 2023, at the Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, MA where he had resided for the past two weeks.  He was the cherished and beloved husband of Shirley A. (Day) Entwistle to whom he was married on June 1, 1957, and shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in South Attleboro, MA on October 22, 1933, he was a son of the late Raymond Sparrow Entwistle and the late Beatrice (Hutchinson) Entwistle.
Mr. Entwistle proudly served in the United States Army having served from his enlistment on June 17, 1953, until his honorable discharge on April 29, 1955 having achieved the rank of private First Class.
He was employed as a cost analyst for Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA for many years prior to his retirement.  Following his retirement, he worked as a custodian for the City of Pawtucket School Department.
Mr. Entwistle and his family attended Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark and he was a member of the St. Thomas Chapter of the Knights of Columbus in Cumberland, RI and the American Legion - Post 312 in South Attleboro, MA. In earlier years, he was a coach for Pop Warner Football in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
An ardent walker, he would often walk three to four miles each day and also enjoyed playing golf.  He treasured the times spent with his canine companions and creating lifelong memories to cherish with his family - all of whom he "made up" affectionate nicknames.
In addition to his wife, left to mourn his loss are his children: Judith Entwistle Josephs and her husband, Leon G. Josephs, M.D. of St. James, North Carolina formerly of Easton, MA; Patricia Entwistle Roberts and her husband, Edward Roberts, of North Attleboro, MA; Linda Entwistle Kayata and her husband, Gregory Kayata, of Foxborough, MA and Charles A. Entwistle, Jr. and his wife Andrea (Argenti) Entwistle of North Scituate, Rhode Island; ten grandchildren:  Kathryn, Robert, Michael, Greg, Jessica, Erin, Andrew, Laura, Emily and Katherine; eight great grandchildren: Alex, Olivia, Evan, Calla, Easton, Vera, Henry, Charlie and several extended family members and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Mary Jette, Raymond Entwistle, Norma Pierce, Elaine Ryan and Lois Reid.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation with Veterans Honors on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A funeral service will commence at the conclusion of visitation on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in  the "Memorial Chapel".
Private burial with military honors will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charles' name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St, West Bridgewater, MA 02379 in recognition of the wonderful care they provided.
