Charles John Dumont

Charles John Dumont, 92, of Morse Avenue, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was the beloved husband of the late Madeleine J. (Lussier) Dumont who died in 1995. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on October 12, 1922, he was a son of the late Alexander and Alice (Bousquet) Dumont. He moved to the City of Attleboro many years ago from Central Falls, Rhode Island. Mr. Dumont was employed as a machinist for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for more than 40 years prior to his retirement. His love for horses influenced him becoming the founder of Char-Gus Equestrian Center in South Attleboro of which he owned and operated from 1977 - 1998. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, formerly St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk. His family was his most cherished treasure and his unconditional love of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family made him very special to those who loved him. He leaves three daughters: Annette M. (Dumont) Sullivan and her husband, Norman F. Sullivan, Sr., of Okeechobee, Florida; Diane M. (Dumont) Hanley and her husband, Francis R. Hanley, of Attleboro and Christine M. Dumont-Casey of Attleboro; seven grandchildren: Norman F. Sullivan, Jr., Matthew D. Hanley, Julie M. Garceau, Amy M. Battisti, Jennifer A. LaLiberte,Timothy D. Hanley and Sarah A. Boratko; 13 great grandchildren; his longtime friend: Alice McGill of Rehoboth; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends and his beloved canine companions: "Milan" and "Casper". He was the father of the late John Dumont and was the brother of the late Alice Joyce, Jene Dumont and Donet Dumont. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off Route 95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to celebrate his life and faith on Saturday, March 28, 2015 by joining the funeral cortege at 8:30 AM at the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off Route 95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyr's Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk. A chapel committal service will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments at the Checker Club, 579 Benefit St, Pawtucket, RI. Please omit flowers.
