Cecilia Helen (Dabrowski) Engler, 84, of Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at The Branches in North Attleboro, MA where she had been a resident for more than a year. She was the wife of the late Retired Sgt. Major Wayne F. Engler, U.S.M.C., who died on October 31, 2014.
Born in Haverhill, MA on November 24, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Dabrowski and the late Sophie (Wieczerak) Dabrowski and was raised and educated in her native community. She was a resident of the City of Attleboro for more than 40 years. Mrs. Engler was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro.
She was a dedicated homemaker to her husband and four boys.
Mrs. Engler enjoyed dancing with her husband in earlier years, always stayed busy with the events in family member's lives and will be remembered as a giving person and who volunteered to collect donations for the American Heart Association.
With quick wit and a sense of humor, she enjoyed dressing up as the Easter Bunny for children in the neighborhood.
She and her husband were former active members of the Attleboro Moose Lodge where they often volunteered for lodge activities.
In later years, Cecilia and her husband took up the game of golf and she has been the only golfer in the family to score a hole-in-one.
Family left to mourn her loss include her four sons: Michael J. Engler and his wife, Marie, of Bristol, Tennessee; Thomas J. Engler and his wife, Darlene, of Arundel, Maine; Robert J. Engler and his wife, Alena, of Foxboro, MA and John J. Engler and his wife, Andrea, of North Attleboro, MA; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister: Claire Riley in New Hampshire and several extended family members.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Dabrowski, Frederick Dabrowski and John Dabrowski.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A Funeral and Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel".
Private graveside services will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cecilia's name may be made to the American Heart Association or any local food pantry.
