Cecil Bright Doty, 74, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the Boston Medical Center, where he had been a patient since last December. He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Soares) Doty, to whom he was married on June 2, 1973.
Born in Cleburne, Texas, on August 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Burrell Doty and the late Jesse Ruth (Bright) Doty. Raised and educated in Texas, he was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and earned an associate's degree in business management from Fisher College as well as attending the Hall Institute for Drafting.
Mr. Doty was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the construction battalion - the Seabees.
Cecil was very proud to be a direct descendant of Edward Doty who arrived in Plymouth, Massachusetts on the Mayflower.
He was employed for 20 years as a design draftsman of propulsion systems in the ship manufacturing industry, and later was the head electrician for the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Medical Center.
An ardent bowler, he was a member of the local bowling leagues. He treasured the years spent at his winter home in Fort. Pierce, Florida.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters: Erica L. McDonald and her husband, Jeremy McDonald, of Riverside, Rhode Island and Alyssa N. (Doty) Jolicoeur and her husband, Christopher Jolicoeur of North Attleboro, MA; his siblings: Donna R. (Doty) Stothers and her husband, Richard Stothers of Bridgeport, Texas; Cindy Dunn in Frisco, Texas and Debra Callaway in Carrollton, Texas.
He was the brother of the late Aaron Doty.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.
The family gratefully acknowledges all of the providers and nurses of the cardiac surgery team at Boston Medical Center for their loving and attentive care.
