Cathryn "Cathy" Lynn Zompa

Cathryn "Cathy" Lynn Zompa, 70, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Philip N. Zompa, whom she married on May 19, 1979.
Born on January 22, 1951, in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Warren Ollie Guffey and the late Marylou (Corp) Tramonti.
A resident of North Attleboro, Cathy previously lived in East Providence, RI, and Plainville, MA. A homemaker for her family, she proudly worked for many years as a waitress, a self-employed child day care provider, and a school bus monitor in East Providence.
A warm, active, and outgoing woman, Cathy loved to bowl and enjoyed being outdoors; tending to her yard and garden, especially her hydrangeas; playing Bingo; and actively participating for many years in the COPD exercise program at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She had a love of children and in her younger years devoted much of her time as a girls' softball coach for the Rumford Little League.
Cathy had a smile that would light up the room and was loved by so very many people. She also had a genuine love of music, and her family will forever miss hearing Cathy singing to her heart's content for all to hear.
She held a special place in her heart for her late dog, "Rhiley", and her faithful companion, "Mookie". More than anything, Cathy cherished being with her family and her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Philip, she leaves her loving daughter, Vickie L. (Zompa) Gallant of North Attleboro, MA, and her stepson, Philip N. Zompa of Smithfield, RI. Cathy was the proud and adoring grandmother of Brooke C. Gallant, Jared D. Gallant, and Alexandra Zompa. She was the dear sister of Rebecca "Becky" Brown and her husband, William Brown, of Watertown, NY; Robert D. Tramonti and his wife, Liz Tramonti, of Cumberland, RI; Lynn Ceresi and her husband, Raymond Ceresi, of Cranston, RI; and Michael Tramonti and his wife, Sheri Tramonti, of West Greenwich, RI. Cathy leaves three nieces: Isabella D. Tramonti, Olivia M. Tramonti, and Amara R. Ceresi; one nephew: Timothy A. Roth; and many dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to honor Cathy by attending a Memorial Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Monday, July 26, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
