Catherine M. Seaman

Catherine M. (Chapman) Seaman, 93, of North Dighton, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Dighton Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Dighton, MA, where she resided. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen E. Seaman.Born on April 2, 1923 in Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Claude Chapman and the late Margaret (Beaton) Chapman.Raised and educated in Nova Scotia, she proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before moving to the United States. Catherine was then employed for many years in the offices of the L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, before retiring in 1988. She attended the First United Methodist Church of North Attleboro and was an active member of the North Attleboro Senior Center and delighted in helping others as part of the Dyer-Lake Sleigh Full of Joy Holiday giving program.Catherine was the loving mother of Dana G. Seaman of Brazil, and the late Gary R. Seaman, who died in December 2003, and his wife, Valerie (Maziarz) Seaman of North Attleboro, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Lana M. Seaman, and the sister of Joyce M. (Chapman) Shepherd, Edwin Chapman, Phyllis Chapman, and Frances (Chapman) Hopper. Catherine leaves several nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many friends.Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Mt. Hope Cemetery and Arboretum in Attleboro Falls, MA, at which time Catherine will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Carmen.
