Catherine Louise Lowney

April 1, 1933 — August 16, 2012

Catherine L. (Beaulac) Lowney of Old Post Road, North Attleboro, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert H. Lowney to whom she was married on May 14, 1955. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Catherine (Manley) Beaulac. She graduated from Pawtucket East High School in 1950. After working for several years as an accounting clerk at Royal Electric Company of Pawtucket, Mrs. Lowney dedicated herself to raising her beloved family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her most treasured and cherished times included those enjoying many meals and barbeques with her family and enjoyed skating with her family on the pond that surrounds her home. Mrs. Lowney enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, working in and around her home, maintaining the gardens around her property in pristine condition and bicycling. In more recent years, watching old movies and solving crossword puzzles were enjoyable. She fondly recalled summer vacations with her family in East Dennis on Cape Cod in addition to day trips to Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island and excursions to Little Compton, Rhode Island and Newport, Rhode Island. In later years, as an ardent jogger she would run five or more miles seven days a week. She and her husband wintered in Florida for many years at Manasota Key. There she perfected her skills at fishing from the shore and the pier. She cherished the times in Florida spent creating lifelong memories with her friends. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she leaves three daughters: Robin Lowney, Cynthia Lowney and Susan Lowney all of North Attleboro; a son: Daniel Lowney of North Attleboro; five grandchildren; one great grandson and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Visitation respectfully omitted. Funeral services and burial will be private. To send the family an expression of sympathy, please visit an online guest book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com . Arrangements under the direction of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. (508) 695-0200.
