Catherine M. (Loomis) Drummey, 80 Retired Foxboro Company EmployeeCatherine M. (Loomis) Drummey, 80, of North Avenue, Attleboro, died on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John Jack Joseph Drummey, Sr. who died on January 22, 2003. Born in Concord, New Hampshire on May 1, 1930, Mrs. Drummey was a daughter of the late Nathan C. and Amy (Wilcott) Loomis. She was raised and educated in the greater Concord, New Hampshire area.Mrs. Drummey returned to Attleboro 12 years ago from Searsport, Maine where she had resided for many years having moved to the State of Maine from South Attleboro.She was employed by the former Foxboro Company as a machine operator and later as an office clerk for 15 years. Following her move to Maine, Mrs. Drummey opened Kays Sweet Shoppe in Searsport and owned and operated the business for five years prior to returning to Massachusetts upon her retirement.Her life was filled with the love of family and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with her beloved family creating lifelong memories.She adored Elvis and enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia. Time spent reading, solving crossword puzzles, camping with family, trips to Foxwoods, making candy, fresh and salt water fishing and time spent on her computer were among her favorite pastimes.Mrs. Drummey leaves six children: Sandra L. Roderick of North Attleboro; Denise A. Calderwood of Lincoln, Rhode Island; John J. Drummey, Jr. of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Charles C. Drummey of Attleboro; Michael F. Drummey of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cheryl Sanborn of Concord, New Hampshire; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister: Beverly Galvin in Maine and several extended family members and dear friends who will greatly miss her presence. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday evening, March 11, 2011 from 6:00 7:45 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
