Carroll Thacher, 77, of Ellendale Road, South Attleboro, died on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Norwood Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Salvas) Thacher to whom he was married on September 1, 1989. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on February 26, 1935, he was a son of the late Walter Henry Collins and Ida (Clayton) Collins. He was a lifelong resident of the Attleboro community and was a 1954 graduate of Attleboro High School. Mr. Thacher was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Parle. He enjoyed attending USS Parle reunions where he was able to reconnect with comrades. As a jewelry designer, Mr. Thacher took great pride in creating unique and beautiful designs and was employed by the former L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro for 37 years. Mr. Thacher was also employed by Image Limousine and East Coast Limousine Service as a limousine driver for several years. He attended Second Congregational Church, Attleboro. In addition to being a professional jewelry designer, he enjoyed creating personal artwork as well. His wife is his only immediate survivor. He was the brother of the late William Collins. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Funeral services and burial will be private.
