Carolyn "Paige" (Schulte) MacEwen, R.N., 60, of Oakridge Avenue, North Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of Dr. Barry J. MacEwen to whom she was married on August 7, 1982 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 22, 1954, she was a daughter of Arthur J. Schulte of Ocean View, Delaware and the late Patricia M. (Connor) Schulte who passed away on December 15, 2012. She was raised and educated in Attleboro where she was a 1972 graduate of Attleboro High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Community College of Rhode Island School of Nursing in 1979. She was employed as a registered nurse at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, area nursing homes and in home health care. Mrs. MacEwen moved to North Attleboro in 1982 from the City of Attleboro. She will be lovingly remembered for making instant friends with all whom she met, her love for being social and talking to everyone and most importantly her love for her cherished family. An ardent traveler, she enjoyed visits to Disney World and Hawaii in particularly. As an avid skier in earlier years, Mrs. MacEwen enjoyed having skied the Alps when her family resided in Turin, Italy when she was ages 9 to 12. In addition to her husband of over 31 years and her father, she is survived by a son: Christopher R. MacEwen of North Attleboro; two daughters: Kerry L. MacEwen of North Attleboro and Kayla J. MacEwen of Boston; a brother: Arthur "Mark" Schulte and his wife, Laura Schulte, of San Francisco, California; her husband's parents: Robert J. and Barbara B. (Bryant) MacEwen of North Attleboro; a nephew: James Schulte of San Francisco, California; her canine companions: Scotty and Olivia and several extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved canine companions: Ginger, Mutley, Chloe and Skipper. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:45 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a local ride to visitation simply call the funeral home directly at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. A private Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
