Carolyn Anne Clark, 83, of Garden Lane, Wrentham; formerly of Washington Street, Plainville and Lakeside Avenue, Wrentham; died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2012 at the Harrington House in Walpole after a brief illness. She was the dear friend of the late Miriam Rosina Denzer who died on January 18, 2005. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Marshall Rowland and Mary (McCowley) Clark. She resided in the Springfield area until moving to Vermont where she was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was a member of the first graduating class of Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA in 1950. She did post graduate work at Springfield College and Boston University. Ms. Clark had an extensive career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts having first worked at the Monson Developmental Center and then at the Wrentham Developmental Center where she had a distinguished career at the facility and held positions including teacher, psychologist, unit director and assistant superintendent. "Anne" as she was affectionately known by her family, resided in Wrentham for many years before moving to Plainville in December 2003 and returned to Wrentham two years ago. She was an active member of the Central Congregational Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls where she was Deacon Emeritus having served on the Board of Deacons. Ms. Clark also served her church family as a member of the Mission Committee, the Capital Funds Committee, the Nominating Committee, a delegate to the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ and was a member and served as president of the Women's Union. Currently, Ms. Clark was serving as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Human Rights Committee at the Wrentham Developmental Center. She was a member of numerous professional organizations and as a longtime volunteer for the "Assurance Line" at the Wrentham Senior Center and had served as a guardian for numerous residents at the Wrentham Developmental Center over the years. She leaves two nieces: Jennifer J. Almeida of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kathleen Marie Clark of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; three great nieces: Kaitlin Anne Deyo, Alyssa Jane Almeida and Josette Anne Almeida and two great nephews: Nicholas James Deyo and Ryan Cameron Deyo. She was currently serving as guardian of Robert Witherell of Raynham and siblings: David Pulsifer of Taunton and Debbie Pulsifer of South Attleboro She was predeceased by her sister: Jane Clark Jolivette and her nephew: Jeffrey Clark Jolivette who had both resided in Bennington, Vermont. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation in the sanctuary of the Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 11:00 - 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow visitation in the sanctuary of the Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance in the church vestry.
