Caroline Louise Genereau

Caroline "Carol" L. (Simpson) Genereau, 77, of South Main Street, Attleboro, died on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Norman Albert Genereau who died on June 28, 1979. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on August 1, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George and Winifred (Lincoln) Simpson. She was raised, educated and remained a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro. Mrs. Genereau was employed at the Robbins Company in Attleboro for ten years prior to her retirement in 2005. She attended the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included time spent solving word search puzzles, playing bingo, listening to country music, enjoying the fragrance and color of flowers and, in her earlier years, she enjoyed camping. Mrs. Genereau was a devoted New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. She was happiest when surrounded by her loving family, particularly her cherished grandchildren, creating lifelong memories. Her family recalls with love and laughter her love for spice drop candies. Mrs. Genereau was a proud 30-year colon cancer survivor. She leaves five children: Michael G. Cronin in North Carolina; Richard R. Cronin and his wife, Bonnie J. (Watts) Cronin of Riverside, Rhode Island; Scott Lincoln Cronin in Montana; Robin M. (Cronin) Salvas and her husband James Salvas of Attleboro and Dawn M. Pigeon and her husband, Steven D. Pigeon, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; 11 grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; three sisters: twins - Sandra Nunes and Sara Simpson both of Attleboro and Joyce Lyons of Attleboro; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late George R. "Butch" Simpson and John E. "Jack" Simpson. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a memorial visitation on SUNDAY, October 19, 2014 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service Celebrating Her Life immediately following visitation on SUNDAY, October 19, 2014 at 1:00PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Attleboro. Children's room is available during visitation and the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Genereau's name may be made to the charity of one's choice or her family asks that you remember her by performing a random act of kindness to help someone in need.
