Carole M. (St. Pierre) Harris, 74, of Attleboro, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, September 8, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Harris to whom she was married on May 11, 1963. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 25, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Arreatta (Smith) St. Pierre. She was raised and educated in her native community of Attleboro where she was a 1958 graduate of Attleboro High School. She moved to Delaware in May 1963, resided there until moving to Norton in 1966 and returned to the City of Attleboro in 1978. She was a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro where she was also a member of the St. John's Women of Spirit for many years. Mrs. Harris had been employed as a secretary prior to her retirement and had been employed by the former First National Bank, Attleboro; Bank of Delaware, Wilmington, Delaware and for Beta Community Services in Attleboro. She served as a volunteer at The Literacy Center in Attleboro from August 1988 - April 2000 and at the City of Attleboro Public Library from May 2005 until 2013. Her favorite pastimes included walking, bird feeding, nurturing her plants, spending time on her personal computer and had enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the Caribbean. In addition to her husband of 51 years, she leaves a son: Mark R. Harris of Ellicott City, Maryland; a daughter: Pamela J. Harris of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; her siblings: Allen St. Pierre of Attleboro; Robert St. Pierre of Bow, New Hampshire and Douglas St. Pierre of Attleboro and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Arthur T. St. Pierre, Noel E. St. Pierre and Roland M. H. St. Pierre. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on SATURDAY, September 13, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with her nephew, Deacon Lawrence D. St. Pierre of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Linden Street, Attleboro, officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service Celebrating Her Life immediately following visitation on SATURDAY, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home. Private burial will be in North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street, Attleboro. Children's room is available during the visitation and the funeral service.
