Carole Ann Bonin

Carole Ann (Freeman) Bonin, 76, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, MA. Born on July 29, 1941 in Barre, VT, she was the daughter of the late Gunnar and Ruth (Goodall) Freeman.A graduate of Montpelier (VT) High School, she received her nursing degree from Fitchburg State University, and her Master's degree from Salve Regina University, and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau. A Registered Nurse, she loved working with children and worked for many years as the Head Nurse for the Milford school system and for the Taunton school system, where she taught CPR to the bus drivers and trained the teachers on the use of the EpiPen. Carole was a longtime resident of Attleboro, having previously lived in North Dighton, MA. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she delighted in spending time with her family. Carole enjoyed fine needle pointing, board and card games, playing Sudoku, and Cardinal birds. She had a special place in her heart for her "girl", "Maggie" and for "Petie", her daughter's dog and her late dog. Carole was the loving and beloved mother of Sandy E. Bonin of Attleboro, MA; Brenda L. Wilkinson of WV; Michael E. Bonin of Attleboro, MA; Timothy J. Bonin of Attleboro, MA; Thomas J. Mendes of Ladson, SC; Kathleen M. St. Pierre of Attleboro, MA; and the late Richard L. Bonin, Jr. She was the adoring grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and proud great-grandmother of sixteen great-grandchildren. Carole was the sister of Deanna Rugo of North Smithfield, RI; Sandra Yacavoni of Northfield, VT; and Candice Deininger of KY. She leaves several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Carole was the former wife and good friend of Richard L.
