Carol M. (Haughey) McCagney, 85 of Taunton, peacefully passed away at Longmeadow of Taunton in Taunton, MA on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.Born on December 16, 1930 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Charles Haughey and (Marie DeLucia) Haughey.Carol was educated in Providence, RI, and worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Pond Home Residential Care Facility in Wrentham, MA before retiring in 2002.More than anything, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandsons, and will long be sweetly remembered watching "The Waltons" on television. Carol is survived by her beloved children: Donna Rooney of Norton, MA; Marjorie McCagney of Yarmouth, MA; Julie Parga of Elmont, NY; and Kelley Brophy of Taunton, MA. She leaves four cherished grandchildren: John Higginbotham; Edward Rooney; and her granddaughters with whom she was especially close: Jesse and Deanne Foren. She also leaves two great-grandsons: Jonah Higginbotham and Elias Rooney. Carol was the sister of Marlene Burke, Charles Haughey and Paula Menard, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
