Carmen "Joe" J. DiMartino, Jr., 52, of Burden Avenue, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was the husband of Kathleen "Kathy" M. (Monaghan) DiMartino to whom he was married on November 10, 1990 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on July 19, 1962, he was a son of the late Carmen J. DiMartino, Sr. and Helen V. (Schoder) DiMartino. He was raised and educated in Dedham where he was a 1980 graduate of Dedham High School. He moved to North Attleboro from Dedham in 1991. Mr. DiMartino was employed by Shaw's Supermarket for more than 31 years and was currently working at the North Providence, Rhode Island store. He was a member of UFCW Local 791. He was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. He will be lovingly remembered as a kind and gentle soul willing to help anyone needing a hand. Over the years he opened his family's home to countless individuals during their time of need. His favorite pastimes including playing golf, trips to the casino, enjoying a cup of java from Dunkin Donuts, taking a walk with his wife, watching old movies and television shows but he most treasured the time spent with his family, especially his two sons, creating lifelong memories for all to cherish. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons: Joseph L. DiMartino and James E. DiMartino both of North Attleboro; a sister: Ellen M. Montague and her husband, Philip N. Montague, of Walpole; several nieces and nephews including Veronica L. Montague of Walpole; his wife's family and many extended family members, dear friends and colleagues. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 8:30 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
