Brita Elizabeth (Welsh) Cronin, 92, of Attleboro, MA passed away on January 14, 2025, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James Michael Cronin to whom she was married on August 15, 1953.
Born in Attleboro, MA on October 31, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Carlton P. Welsh and the late Ida Marie Stewart Welsh.
Brita was a vibrant and active woman who was full of life. She was active in her church, Murray Unitarian Universalist Church. She enjoyed participating in and planning the annual church bazaars.
She was always involved in the community in many ways.
Mrs. Cronin was educated locally and graduated from college as a dental hygienist and served the Mansfield school district as their on-site dental hygienist for many years. Through her role in the school system and training, she was involved in the original Crest toothpaste study.
She was an ardent gardener and painter, loved visiting the New England coast and was an avid traveler.
She was predeceased by her two sons: Kevin Stewart Cronin, who married Elaine Hazel Cronin, and Keith James Cronin who married the late Nancy Dallas Cronin.
Mrs. Cronin was the grandmother of Kevin Stuart Cronin II, Catherine Elaine Funk, Michael James Cronin, and Ashley Elizabeth Cronin.
She was the great grandmother of Aeryn Cronin, Elijah Cronin, Preston Cronin, and Jonathan Funk.
She also leaves several nieces and nephews including her devoted niece: Donna Jean Cronin and her husband, Dennis James Cronin, of Attleboro, MA.
Mrs. Cronin was the sister of the late Jean Marie Gulino.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation and Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel"
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA.
