Beverly Ann (Cote) Avellar, 80, of East Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.
Born on June 21, 1939 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest P. Cote Sr. and the late Louise Elizabeth (Mendes) Cote.
Beverly was a resident of Attleboro for most of her life before moving to East Providence one year ago. She worked as a caregiver for The ARC of Bristol County before retiring.
A woman of great faith, she attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk for many years. She loved to play cards, especially High-Low Jack and Cribbage; to shop; and to dance. More than anything, she cherished spending time with her family.
Beverly was the loving and beloved mother of Anthony A. Avellar of California; Deborah A. Messier of South Attleboro, MA; Brenda J. Avellar of Attleboro, MA; Joseph M. Avellar of Attleboro, MA; Eric A. Avellar of Attleboro, MA; and the late Vicky Impey. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Beverly was the sister of Michael A. Cote of Attleboro, MA; Dolores (Cote) Brooks of Providence, RI; Ernest P. Cote Jr. of Attleboro, MA; Richard Cote of Attleboro, MA; Joyce Taylor of Attleboro, MA; and Pearl Cote of Attleboro, MA; and was predeceased by the late Shirley (Cote) Lopes; the late Henry "Chucky" Cote; the late James Cote; the late Ronald E. Cote; and the late Robert E. Cote. She leaves her extended family. Beverly was the former wife of Anthony Avellar of South Attleboro, MA.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of face masks, friends and family are cordially invited to honor Beverly by attending a Memorial Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 8:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
