December 5, 1947 — February 3, 2025

Betsey J. Cassidy (Baker) 77 of Attleboro, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Neil F. Cassidy.

Born in Attleboro, MA., on December 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Marjorie (Casey) Baker. She spent her young life in Foxboro and was a 1965 graduate of Foxboro High School.

Betsey obtained a bachelor's degree in English Literature at Colby College, a field that not only honed her analytical skills but also deepened her appreciation for the written word. Following her academic pursuits, she took on a number of professional roles, including as an engineer’s assistant, a real estate agent, a commodity specialist at T.I./Sensata Technologies, and a bookkeeper at her daughter's dental practice.

Beyond her professional life, Betsey spent years volunteering with the Girl Scouts. Her commitment to community service extended to various charitable organizations, where she contributed her time and resources to causes she was passionate about, embodying the spirit of giving back to her community.

A creative individual at heart, Betsey found joy in knitting, crocheting, and sewing at various times throughout her life. Her daughters fondly remember the hand-sewn Halloween costumes she made for years of their childhood. Betsey loved the outdoors, constructing stone walls around her yard and taking trips with her husband to hike in New Hampshire. Betsey was an enthusiastic reader, often losing herself in the pages of novels and poetry.

Betsey also had a passion for the performing arts. She was a season ticket holder at Trinity Rep in Providence for many years, and an enthusiastic supporter of her children and grandchildren’s dance recitals and theater performances.

Betsey was a multifaceted individual whose life was marked by her dedication to family, community, creativity, and the arts. Her diverse interests and active involvement in various pursuits made her a beloved figure among her friends and family, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Erin Cassidy-Lunman and her husband Jonathan Lunman of Sharon, MA., and Lindsay Cassidy and her partner William Wagner of Portsmouth, RI. She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Marjorie Martin of Greenville, RI., and Nancy Schmidt and her husband David of Phoenix, Arizona and cherished grandchildren, Nicolas and Adam Lunman, Lilly, Maxwell and Violet Corbett.
