Beth Ann (Carlson) Stromberg, 60 Retired Educator Beth Ann (Carlson) Stromberg, 60, of Oakridge Avenue, North Attleboro; died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Dennis A. Stromberg to whom she was married on August 1, 1987. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on January 30, 1950, she was a daughter of the late C. Thorsten and Lettie M. (Melanson) Carlson. She was raised and educated in Attleboro where she was a 1968 graduate of Attleboro High School. Mrs. Stromberg received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government from Wheaton College in Norton with magna cum laude honors in 1972 and earned her Masters in Education from Tufts University in 1973. Prior to her retirement in 2008, she was a kindergarten teacher in the Attleboro Public School system for 35 years. Mrs. Stromberg was a member of the American Association of University Women, member of the ADK educational sorority; Member of the Board of Directors of Markman Children's Programs and served as a committee member of the Friends of Capron Park Zoo. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Attleboro. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, gentle heart and her desire to help others. She was affectionately known as "Auntie Beth" not only to her own nieces and nephews but to many, many others as well. In addition to her beloved husband of 24 years, she leaves a sister: Lisa J. (Carlson) Nelson and her husband, Larre H. Nelson, of Attleboro; her beloved nieces and nephews: Amanda Nelson of Attleboro; Karen Haley of Marblehead; Allison McDonald of Shrewsbury; Paul Nelson of Attleboro; Phil Nelson of Attleboro; Rick Stromberg of Hingham and Eric Stromberg of Swampscott; a sister-in-law: Muriel Stromberg of Attleboro and a special cousin: Dereth Ellston of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may simply call (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis local transportation. Children's room available during visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 647 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Sandra Deamler D'Amico, Pastor and Rev. Pat Potter, officiating. Private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro on Monday, January 24, 2011. All services will be held as scheduled regardless of weather conditions. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the church. Please omit flowers.
