Bernard E. Greene, 85, of Zeller Avenue, Plainville, died on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice E. (Wilshire) Greene who died on April 26, 1998. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 30, 1927, he was a son of the late Arthur and Bertha (Greene) Kazarian. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro where he was a star football player at North Attleboro High School. Following his high school graduation, Mr. Greene entered the United States Navy He was employed as an engineer for the former Foxboro Company prior to his retirement. Mr. Greene was a former co-owner of the Heather Hill Golf Course in Plainville. An ardent sports enthusiast, he was particularly a devoted New England Patriots fan. He formerly attended Grace Episcopal Church, North Attleboro. He leaves two sons: George Allen Greene of Cary, North Carolina and Hector Michael Greene of Lewiston, Maine; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his siblings: Leon K. Kazarian of Pawtucket and Ruth E. Brederson of Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Charles Kazarian, Richard Kazarian, Arthur Kazarian and Charlotte Mac Donald. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service with Veteran's Honors on Friday afternoon, May 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial with military honors will follow in Plainville Cemetery, Plainville.
