Benjamin "Ben" Lloyd Abernathy

Benjamin "Ben" Lloyd Abernathy, 84, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Michel Claire (Neveux) Abernathy.Born on March 26, 1934 in Fort Kent, ME, he was the son of the late Harry James Abernathy and the late Uneda (Smart) Abernathy.Ben worked for thirty years for the Town of Mansfield, MA, working as a painter and custodian throughout the Mansfield schools.A resident of North Attleboro for the past fifteen years, he previously lived in Plainville, MA. A warm man with a kind smile, he enjoyed trips to Wells, Maine every summer and working at his family's drive-in theater. Ben was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He always enjoyed a good meal and trips to Disney, especially the food there. He loved animals of all kinds, especially his cats throughout the years, and, more than anything, being with his family and his cherished grandchildren. In addition to his dear wife, Michel, he leaves his beloved children: Jennifer A. Silvestri and her husband, Larry M. Silvestri, of North Attleboro; and Jessica A. Nally and her husband, Kenneth F. Nally, of North Attleboro. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Patrick F. Nally, Brandan K. Nally, John N. Nally, Katie N. Silvestri, and Rachel M. Silvestri. He leaves his extended family and many dear friends.A Private Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Private Funeral Service and Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.Burial will be privately held in Shepardville Cemetery, Plainville, MA.
