Barry Ward Beverley, 74, of Brockton, MA, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Tina Y. (Yacura) Beverley.Born on October 5, 1941 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Harry Beverley and the late Mildred (Crockett) Beverley.Barry proudly received his High School Diploma, and honorably served our country in the United States Air Force. He retired in 2002 after having worked for many years as a Service Manager for various business and dealerships in the area.A longtime resident of Brockton, Barry's life was filled with many diverse interests. A life-long member of the NRA, he was a member of the Holbrook Sportsmen's Club and the Samoset Rod and Gun Club, where he was a member of the Pistol Shooting Team. He was a past member of Stoughton Fish and Game, where he was part of the Pistol Shooting Team. Barry enjoyed horseback riding, and was an avid race car fan. He could often be found building, fixing, and tinkering, and was affectionately known to his grandchildren as "MacGyver". He was a Social Service worker for many years, and genuinely enjoyed time spent with his trusted dogs: the late "Poco", and his rescued companion, "Milo". Above all, Barry treasured his family and being with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Tina, Barry is survived by his children: Brenda L. Kullmann of Indiana; Dawn M. Pollinger of New Hampshire; Michael B. Beverley of New Hampshire; Barry J. Beverley of Brockton, MA; Susan A. Morrison of New Hampshire; Patricia A. Murphy of Whitman, MA; Christopher B. Beverley of New Hampshire; Terry Langlais of MA; Kelly Bremmer of Missouri; Matthew S. Maphis of Ohio; and Nathan D. Maphis of Ohio. He leaves twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and his first wife, Dorothy Hartmann. He was the brother of the late Natalie Green, Janice DeRosier, and Valerie Elsmore. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.Burial services with Military Honors will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barry's memory to: Steward Home Care & Hospice, 30 Perwal Street, Westwood, MA 02090.For additional information or to send the family a written expression of sympathy, please visit an on-line guest book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com .
