Barbara A. (Blouin) Ross, 77, of Plainville, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Ross who died on October 11, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Margaret E. (Clifford) Blouin. She resided in Plainville for almost 48 years having moved to the community from Boston. She was a 1956 graduate of the former St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in the Brighton section of Boston. Barbara was a compassionate, caring, and dedicated registered nurse who had a variety of fulfilling positions throughout her career. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church, Wrentham. Barbara leaves two daughters: Anne E. Ross of North Attleboro and Patricia M. Drummey and her husband, Thomas H. Drummey, of Plainville; two grandchildren who she treasured: Megan A. Drummey and Michael T. Drummey both of Plainville; two sisters: June Eastman in California and Ruth C. Hollywood in Massachusetts; her sister-in-law Mary Blouin in Virginia; her husbands siblings: William A. Ross, Jr. in Virginia; Patrick and Carol Ross in Massachusetts; Geraldine Brunt in Maryland and Catherine and Charles Hadayia in Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Robert F. Blouin and Miriam K. Blouin. Visitation is respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 9:00 AM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 130 South Street, Wrentham with the Rev. George C. Hines, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private in Plainville Cemetery, Plainville. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a celebration of Barbaras life.
