Barbara Elaine (Simmons) Reynolds, 84, of Ocean Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island; formerly of Reservoir Street, North Attleboro, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the wife of John Reynolds to whom she was married on April 18, 1953. Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 27, 1928, she was the only child of the late Harold R. and Vera (Bedle) Simmons. She was raised in Detroit and she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1951. Mrs. Reynolds lived in Cumberland, Rhode Island from 1958 - 1965 when she moved to North Attleboro where she resided for 25 years prior to moving to Narragansett, Rhode Island 22 years ago. Four generations of family members enjoyed the many times spent at the family summer home on Goose Pond in Canaan, New Hampshire. For the past 42 years, Mrs. Reynolds, along with her husband, has owned J. T. Inman Company in Attleboro. She had also been employed as a real estate agent in the greater Attleboro area for many years. While residing in North Attleboro, Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Republican Town Committee and the North Attleboro Historical Society. Her favorite pastimes including playing bridge with her informal Arnolds Mills bridge club, enjoying a cup of java with the "Coffee Clutch Girls" in Narragansett on Saturday mornings and traveling throughout the world with her husband and family. Every other year on their wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds would take the entire family on a spectacular vacation. In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. Reynolds leaves four children: John Christopher Reynolds and his wife, Dorcas, of Pitman, New Jersey; Kathryn Thorpe and her husband, Paul, of North Attleboro; Sarah Reynolds of Skaneateles, New York and David Reynolds of Midlothian, Virginia; four grandchildren: Jennifer and Nicholas Thorpe both of North Attleboro and Austin and Andrew Reynolds both of Pitman, New Jersey and several grand dogs and extended family members. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
