Barbara J. Johnson

Barbara J. (Woodward) Johnson passed away on May 29, 2012 in Nokomis, Florida. She was the wife of the late George H. Johnson to whom she was married for 41 years. Born in Plainville, Massachusetts on November 3, 1915, she was a daughter of Oswin and Marion Woodward. She was educated in Plainville and later graduated from the Burroughs Business School in Boston. She later made her residence in Attleboro for over 50 years. Mrs. Johnson was employed as a bookkeeper for Evans Case in North Attleboro prior to her retirement. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church for 75 years and later with the Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church in Nokomis, Florida. She spent much of her adult life donating her time as a volunteer for various organizations including nursing homes, her church and Sturdy Memorial Hospital for 23 years. Mrs. Johnson leaves behind a brother, Richard A. Woodward of Nokomis, Florida; two nieces: Crystal Maddocks of Attleboro and Diane Lindemayer of Danielson, Connecticut; and two nephews: Charles Woodward of Foxboro and David Woodward of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the sister of the late Clifford Woodward. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Graveside Service on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro. Burial will follow. Immediately following graveside services, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Plainville United Methodist Church, 16 East Bacon Street, Plainville.
